Arsenal discussing future of Ainsley Maitland-Niles with contract running down ARSENAL are in discussions with Ainsley Maitland-Niles over a new contract. By Jack Staplehurst / Published 7th February 2018 The versatile youngster has impressed this season after breaking into the first team. Maitland-Niles is being moulded into a holding midfielder, but he has filled in admirably at left-back and even as a winger when called upon. As a result, he could be seen as a replacement for Francis Coquelin, who left for Valencia for £12m in January.
