Rafael Benitez wants backing in the transfer market
The Spaniard only has one year left on his deal on Tyneside. But fans in the north east are eager to see the 58-year-old extend his stay at the club after an impressive two years at the helm. Despite being given assurances by Mike Ashley, Benitez has been continuously let down in the transfer market by the Toon owner in recent times. And the former Liverpool boss has hinted he needs the tools to compete at the right end of the Premier League in the years to come. “We will see," he said, when asked about potential contract negotiations.
