Smith nominated for PL2 Player of the Month
Matt Smith has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January. In a string of impressive performances, our English midfielder notably scored the late equaliser in our 3-3 draw away at Everton.
Matt has been chosen by the Premier League Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches voted for the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches during the month.
The panel will also select the winner, with an announcement due next week.
The players nominated for the award are:
Faustino Anjorin - Chelsea
Liam Cullen - Swansea City
Shae Hutchinson - Norwich City
Ben Knight - Manchester City
