Government minister confirms plan is to restart Premier League in June
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden insists the Government wants football to return in June. But he has made it clear supporters need to be given every chance possible to watch matches - and wants the Premier League to offer more financial help to EFL clubs facing going bankrupt due to the suspension of football. Dowden held crunch talks with Premier League and EFL bosses today along with the Football Association in a bid to thrash out plans to resume the season. He insisted the talks were positive and that there remains a goodwill amongst all parties involved to get the campaign finished.
