Man Utd's decision to not sign Arsenal bound Gabriel Magalhaes explained
Manchester United were among a number of clubs linked with Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes but the Brazilian looks set to complete a switch to Arsenal. The 22-year-old has reportedly agreed a five-year contract with the Gunners, who will fork out £27m to prise him away from the French club. However, United are said to have never had any serious talks with both the player or Lille about a transfer. Gabriel's agent Guilherme Miranda claimed the defender was offered more money by other clubs, saying: 'Arsenal was nowhere near the best proposal [money-wise].
