Arsenal told to forget about £46m transfer target
Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez has told Arsenal to forget about signing Karim Benzema this summer. The Frenchman has emerged as a £46m target for the Gunners of late, with Arsene Wenger thought to be keen to add a proven goalscorer to his ranks to support Olivier Giroud. Benzema’s Real future has been up in the air for much of the summer following the arrival of Benitez, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti in the Bernabeu dugout, with suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo could lead the line under the ex-Liverpool gaffer having done the rounds.
