Francis Coquelin outperforming Chelsea's Nemanja Matic
Whilst Arsenal fans have certainly seen what a revelation Francis Coquelin has been to the side since his return from a loan-spell at Charlton Athletic in December, even we wouldn't have believed he could be as successful as the likes of Nemanja Matic. But statistics for the season reveal that in eight key areas that a stereotypical defensive midfielder needs to have mastered, Coquelin is actually outperforming the Chelsea man, who is supposed to be the best in the business. Whilst this revelation clearly shouldn't be taken for granted just yet – Coquelin has played less than half the games Matic has this season – it perhaps means that Arsene Wenger doesn't need to splash out...
