Reports in Spain have suggested that the German international rejected the new deal, with claims that Barcelona are keen on signing the 27-year-old, as noted by The Mirror. However, an Arsenal insider has notified the publication that no contract talks have even begun between the two parties, thus completely ruling out the notion that the World Cup winner has rejected an offer from the club.
