Clubs talking about European Super League, says US executive Stillitano
After rumours of discussions over a breakaway Super League, a US sports executive says the prospect could appeal to Europe's biggest clubs. Charlie Stillitano, one of the men behind the International Champions Cup, says there is a valid argument for richer clubs to be guaranteed a place in the Champions League. Five of the Premier League's biggest sides reportedly met with Stillitano in London this week to discuss the ICC, with the prospect of Europe's top teams breaking away to form a new elite competition also rumoured to be on the agenda. Arsenal stated their opposition to the idea this week, while another club said to be involved suggested to Omnisport such a league would be unworkable....
