U-17s: Arsenal win ABN AMRO Future Cup
Arsenal Under-17s lifted the ABN AMRO Future Cup following a dramatic penalty shoot-out win against Anderlecht in the final. Emile Smith Rowe fired home the deciding penalty, after Joao Virginia had saved three spot-kicks to give the Gunners a 5-4 victory, following a goalless 120 minutes. Virginia also impressed in the semi-finals against Barcelona, saving two spot-kicks in another shoot-out win after a 0-0 draw. The Gunners finished top of their group, beating Right to Dream (Ghana), Redbull Salzburg and hosts Ajax in the process at the Dutch club’s training ground Sportpark De Toekomst.
