Arsenal legend slams XI for losing to shoddy Monaco side
Arsenal legend Paul Merson launched a frank assessment of his old club's exit in the Champions League last-16 round for the fifth year running, claiming that the Gunners should be disappointed in losing to an average Monaco side. Mission impossible was almost completed in Monaco, but Arsenal's dominance in the game only raised questions as to how they've managed to be eliminated by a team clearly inferior to them. The third goal in the home leg inevitably cost Arsene Wenger's men, and Merson believes that the were too naive once Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had pulled back a goal.
