Xhaka and Perez star as Arsenal coast past Nottingham Forest
Arsenal eased past Nottingham Forest and in to the EFL Cup fourth round. This competition is usually one in which Arsene Wenger give chances to young talent but, while there was a smattering of that, such is the strength of Arsenal's squad that this game offered a chance for some senior players to show what they could do as well. Having made 11 changes, Wenger watched as his side dominated from first whistle to last. Granit Xhaka scored another cracker from distance, Lucas Perez scored his first two Arsenal goals and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has been struggling for form, rounded it off with a beautiful injury-time strike.
